Windrush Generations

“From illegal abduction to illegal deportation” 400 many years of harsh treatment as well as a hostile environment.

The journey with the Windrush Generations continues to be long and continuously traumatic. From who are only 1625 the antecedents of the people were illegally abducted from other home lands and sold into slavery, shipped on the Caribbean to function as slaves inside sugar cane fields to enrich the British Empire. They made america rich, but never received fair treatment.

They served inside Crimean war 1854-1856. Notably, the famous Jamaica born, mixed race nurse Mary Seacole, who independently taken care of the British troops despite being denied a job by the British war office.

They served inside the First World War as well as the Second World War, fighting as British subjects in order to save Europe from your fascist dictator. As the posters read, “The Motherland Calls”, Britain needed their help and in addition they answered the letter.

After the Second World War, Britain was required to replenish its labour force and rebuild its devastated economy, we were holding invited now to come and rebuild the nation. They came.

They worked as labourers, transport workers and nurses, putting the “Great” in Great Britain and also, since that time back 1948, they’ve got worked and paid taxes, bought homes and raised families, continuing presently.

It may be seventy years considering that the Windrush come to Britain carrying the first of those pioneers and through the day in their arrival by invitation, their existence continues to be defined by one word “racism”.

Called every derogatory name imaginable, physically abused and vilified, their children made subjects of constant prejudice and bias, cheated on their own hard earned wages, overt racism, covert racism, institutional racism, they’ve endured all, stood their ground and fought for justice.

Many ones now past retirement age have lived from the rioting, police harassment, brutality and corruption, veterans and heroes, everyone.

They have watched their young adults and close relatives murdered inside the streets by police along with other malevolent thugs, their athletes insulted, mocked and insulted by hooligans.

Their children terrorized by skinheads and louts.

They have attended the funerals of friends and loved ones who have died in police custody, inexplicably.

They have cried a river of tears, for both antecedents and descendants alike. Perhaps the Enoch Powell speech really should have been called “Rivers of Tears”.

But no person sees their pain, nobody sees their suffering, not a soul feels their loss or laments their mistreatment. And now 2018, the doctor has to again endure complete devastation of the lives due towards the gross negligence with the government.

Hostile environment! I would say these individuals have had several life times during the brutal and harsh treatment, mainly at the hands from the British establishment.

From 1625 to 2018, the persecution, abuse and exploitation continues.
